Where do you get your inspiration to create such artful cakes?
We take our inspiration, quite literally from everything. Architecture, fashion, color trends, magazines, the web, art and most importantly our clients. It is a combination of things that makes the perfect cake.

What is the most elaborate cake that you have ever made?
That would probably have to be the first cake we did for "The Food Network Challenge" Cake competition. We had a 'Mystery Client' that just gave us basic background info and we had to design a cake for her Sweet 16 birthday. It was exciting and exhausting all at the same time! We ended up with a 4 foot multi-tiered cake featuring everything about her and her hobbies. We used various types of sugar work to sculpt everything from a shoe, pocketbook, jewelry, tiara etc. to adorn our masterpiece. We won 2nd place in the competition and a silver medal.

What is the weirdest request you have ever gotten?
That would have to be an X-Rated cake that we cannot describe online :). Other than that, we have gotten many requests for cakes to have moving parts in them. One that stands out is the one we made last summer that had a real waterfall in it, with a gold fish swimming around at the base of the waterfall. Really fun!

Out of all the cake flavors, fillings and icings you offer, what is the most popular?
That would have to be the vanilla cake with oreo filling. Loved by kids and adults alike. Also our Triple Chocolate Cake with Espresso and Chocolate Ganache filling is a winner.

On average, how long does it take for you to make a custom cake?
Depending upon design, 3-4 days start to finish. Some longer if they have multiple elements of sugar work.

How long before the wedding should the cake process begin?
Generally 3-6 months is a guide to go by.
