Lindsay Pryde and Matthew Baker met at a mutual friend’s birthday party five years ago in New York City and immediately hit it off. A few years later, Matt surprised Lindsay with a weekend trip to the Ritz on Lake Oconee in Georgia, where he proposed and Lindsay happily accepted.

The Reverend James Coyne officiated at the ceremony at Christ & Holy Trinity Church in Westport. The reception followed at the Inn at Longshore. During the reception, Matt’s 10-year-old cousin unexpectedly stole the show by playing one of the couple’s favorite songs, “Don’t Stop Believing” by Journey on the keyboard, accompanied by the wedding band.

Lindsay, the daughter of Barbara Nash of Fairfield and David Pryde of Westport, is a graduate of Staples High School and received her bachelor’s degree in marketing from Fairfield University. She is a wholesale sales coordinator for Tory Burch in New York City.

Matthew is an investment banker at Credit Suisse in New York. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College and a master’s in business administration from Emory University. He is the son of Margaret McNamara and Thomas Baker of Lakewood, Washington.

The newlyweds honeymooned in Hawaii before returning home to New York City.
