Babson College students Kaitlin Anne Conroy and Michael Pasquale Ervin didn’t meet until the senior week festivities, following an introduction by mutual friends. After a graduation trip to Ireland with her sister Kelwin, Kaitlin started dating Michael while working in Boston. They returned to Babson that fall for homecoming weekend and discovered that the bricks with their names on them had randomly been placed next to each other on their class wall.
After receiving the blessing of Kaitlin’s parents, Michael proposed on their ten-year anniversary at a favorite spot on Tod’s Point, with a sunset picnic, roses and Champagne. Monsignor Edward R. Surwilo officiated at the ceremony held overlooking Long Island Sound at the Stamford Yacht Club. A reception followed, which included a sing-along of “Sweet Caroline” led by the bride’s father as news spread that the Red Sox had beaten the Yankees.
The bride, daughter of Judith and Timothy Conroy of Old Greenwich, also graduated from Greenwich High School. She is the director of investor relations at a hedge fund in New York.
The groom, son of Mary and Michael Ervin of Ledyard, Connecticut, and Greenwich, graduated from Ledyard High School. He is a director with a private equity firm in Greenwich.
Following a honeymoon in Anguilla, the newlyweds returned home to Riverside.
