Not even the threat of Hurricane Irene was able to disrupt the joy of Heather Bronson MacKenzie and Tyler McMillan Perrin’s wedding at French’s Point in Stockton Springs, Maine, looking over Penobscot Bay. Master Mariner Captain Ken Barnes officiated. The bride, a graduate of Greenwich High School, and her husband, Tyler Perrin, met at Colgate University from which they graduated. Mr. Perrin, a graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Fairfax, Virginia, studied and worked in China, Thailand and Australia for six years before returning to the United States.
The couple met again at the home of a mutual friend, Jake Miller, during the summer of 2009. Mr. Perrin invited Miss MacKenzie to a party in the Hamptons over Labor Day weekend but she countered with an invitation to join her at her parents’ cottage in the Finger Lakes. Mr. Perrin accepted the invitation and thereafter commuted every weekend for a year from Washington, D.C., to New York, before proposing, on the anniversary of their first date. The couple celebrated the next day by hiking in the Catskill Mountains.
The bride is the daughter of Janet Bronson MacKenzie and Donald R. MacKenzie of Greenwich. She works in human resources at Credit Suisse in New York.
The groom is the son of Katie Perrin of Fairfax, Virginia, and Richard P. Perrin of Bethesda, Maryland. He received his MBA from the Australian Graduate School of Management at the University of New South Wales. Mr. Perrin is the supply chain analytics manager at Li and Feng in New York.
Mr. and Mrs. Perrin spent their honeymoon in Hawaii, before returning home to Manhattan.
