Give your wardrobe the once-over and pad your wallet at the same time by consigning those designer frocks and accessories that you’ll never wear again. Carrying high-end labels from Armani to Zegna, below is a list of Fairfield County’s premier consignment shops. Check their individual websites for brands they accept and consignment policies.

Consigned Designs

Consigned Designs Greenwich CT

Valentino,  Etro,  Dior, Chanel…the labels at Consigned Designs and its sister shop next door,  Elle Encore Couture, read like a virtual  who’s-who of international designers.  One of the largest luxury consignment boutiques in the area, Consigned Designs occupies two floors of its Village Square home selling gently worn high-end designer apparel and accessories, jewelry, and men’s apparel. Too busy to drop off your clothing for consignment? Not a problem – the team at Consigned Designs will gladly make an appointment to come to your home to evaluate your couture cache. They also take consignments in-store Monday through Saturday (no appointment necessary) and items are held for 60 days with a 10% discount taken after 30 days. Sellers receive 50% of the sale price. Bonus: Consigned Designs also sells items on Ebay – providing a larger audience for your treasures.

Designer Label Consignments

This small shop boasts two rooms of designer goods. While the front room is dedicated to women’s apparel from labels like Valentino, Missoni, and Anne Fontaine, the back room is exclusively for men – gently worn suits from Armani and Zegna, Thomas Pink shirts and men’s jeans from Diesel. New consignments are taken for the season by appointment with a minimum of 10 pieces required to set up an account. After six weeks, items are reduced 20% and after 8-10 weeks are reduced an additional 50%. Sellers receive 50% of the sale price.

Here you’ll find everything from an Escada leather jacket to a Zara blouse and a nice selection of worn-once evening dresses. The consignment policy allows up to twenty seasonal items be brought in on hangers during consignment hours (Monday-Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.) for evaluation. Once items are accepted, consignors receive 50% of the sale price. Consigned apparel remains on the sale floor for 90 days. Goods are marked down 20% after the first month, and 50% after the second month. Double Exposure also consigns a limited number of collectibles and decorative objects from Limoges and Lalique.
