Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) is a non-profit, 1,008-bed tertiary medical center receiving national and international referrals. Yale-New Haven Hospital includes Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven, Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital and Yale-New Haven Psychiatric Hospital. The history of Yale-New Haven Hospital extends back to 1826, when the General Hospital Society of Connecticut was chartered as the first hospital in Connecticut and the fourth voluntary hospital in the nation.
With more than 3,600 university and community physicians and advanced practitioners, including more than 600 resident physicians, Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) provides comprehensive, multidisciplinary, family-focused care in more than 100 medical specialty areas.
The Hospital is the primary affiliate of the Yale University School of Medicine, which was chartered in 1810.

Each year, Yale-New Haven Hospital Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) treats the most heart and vascular patients of any facility in Connecticut and performs virtually all cardiac and vascular procedures available worldwide. Transplantation Center
Yale-New Haven Transplantation Center (YNHTC) provides expert, comprehensive and compassionate care for adult and pediatric patients throughout the world who are candidates for organ transplantation. They perform Liver, Kidney, Pancreas and Heart transplantation; and are the region's leader in the evaluation and treatment of advanced liver disease.
Additionally they provides vascular access for patients who require dialysis treatment. YNHTC also offers innovative treatments and access to research trials for patients suffering from a wide range of conditions.
Multidisciplinary team of transplant Surgeons, Hepatologists, Nephrologists, Nurses, Pharmacists, Financial Coordinators, Nutritionists, Social Workers, Business Associates, and even an Answering Service Staff who may take calls from concerned patients and families in the middle of the night.
Smilow Cancer Hospital
Smilow Cancer Hospital treats more cancer patients than any other hospital in Connecticut. They are a leader in personalized cancer care through innovative tumor profiling techniques used to analyze every patient's cancer.
