Aux Delices
Aux Delices offers finely crafted specialty foods and freshly baked desserts which customers can buy in one of their four stores or can have delivered to their homes. “Greg and I love the idea of making people’s lives easier by providing healthy convenient foods for our customers,” said Owner and Chef Debra Ponzek. “Clients will let us know what their dietary concerns are, what their likes and preferences are, what their kids like and we will accommodate them. People often use our home delivery service for ease.” Aux Delices foods are their own home made culinary creations, made fresh every day, with no preservatives. Seasonal foods are often purchased at local farms. From chips and dips, freshly baked breads, full course all natural chicken breast dinners followed by beautifully prepared tarts, to catering parties with six hundred guests – Aux Delices does it all. Whether you need takeout for breakfast, lunch and dinner, corporate catering, private parties, weddings or dinner delivered for your family, “everything is taken care of. We offer full scale catering – food, flowers, tents, entertainment, we will plan it and make sure everything goes off without a hitch. We have a very healthful spin on our foods so people can eat them several times a week; we have foods for the kids and terrific Chefs who have been with us for years. We really get to know what our clients like and don’t like,” continued Ponzek. “They’re like family.” The Westport location now doubles as a Bistro.
Collyer Catering
Reed Collyer of Collyer Catering explained that they offer dinner services to long term clients, have gourmet grab and go lunches, prepared foods, a connection to local, natural, organic and sustainable sourcing and offer full service catering. She and her husband Chef Mark Sharon are a company dedicated to the creation of outstanding and creative foods, providing stellar service and an unwavering willingness to go the extra mile for their clients. “I think the grab and go segment is huge, but I think it’s bigger in places like the grocery stores because people are more budget conscious even when trying to feed their families conveniently,” said Collyer. “I believe there’s a much bigger trend in cooking classes right now because people who may not have needed to know how to cook in the past are getting interested in it again, trying to watch their budgets while providing for their families.” Collyer Market offers gourmet prepared foods to go, unique gift items by New England Artisans, gourmet jams, cheeses, crackers, and caters both Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
Festivities Events
Festivities Events also caters not only to large parties and corporate events, but also to busy families. “A big part of what we now do is preparing meals for families,” said Chef Nicole Straight. “A lot of catering companies are incorporating this into their business models because it’s become a reality.” Straight explained that frozen chicken nuggets for dinner don’t cut it anymore as people are seeking healthy alternatives for their families. Festivities offers weekly menus, uses the best quality fresh ingredients and purchases fresh seasonal foods from Ambler Farm whenever possible, offering a farm to your table home delivery service. “We also prepare a lot of fresh safe foods for kids with allergies. It’s really nice to be able to provide this service and to establish a relationship with families.” Festivities ‘Dinner at Home’ service provides clients with a weekly menu of fresh healthy meal choices. Your personal weekly selections will be delivered to your home. “We’ve been in business for 28 years and just won Best of the Gold Coast. In this changing economy people aren’t throwing the lavish parties they once were so this service allows us to continue to connect with our clients, it’s very important to us. We’re feeding families. We’re in the people business.” Festivities plans to join the SoNo Marketplace, located at 314 Wilson Avenue in Norwalk (scheduled to open in November) and will offer their ‘Dinners to Go’ menu.
Julie Collier Catering
Chef’s mostly for client’s private parties – dinner parties, birthday parties, Holiday parties and more. “I bring the ingredients, cook the meal, serve it and clean up. I even help with party themes and décor,” said Collier, a recent Culinary School Grad. Collier explained how friends who are Personal Chefs are also busy, as this new trend has grown. Chefs meet with their clients and get to know their families preferences and in turn, plan their menu for the week. In the beginning of each week, the Personal Chefs gather the necessary ingredients, arrive at the Clients home, prepare the meals for the week, package and labels each (incl which day of the week it should be eaten), put the meals in the refrigerator/freezer and clean the clients kitchen before leaving. “People often want a specific Chef – a kosher Chef or a Vegan Chef – there’s really someone with a cooking style for everyone. It also broadens the children’s palette by having them try different foods at an early age,” continued Collier. “You come home and have freshly prepared meals and know its quality food.”
