Taking a nice relaxing beach vacation is the best way to breakout of the winter dull drums. Everything should be low-key and simple, including your hair and makeup. You don't want to be THAT GIRL with the full face of makeup on the beach but a little hint of color is definitely a do. We can't have a professional styling team with us at all times but with these chic tips you'll be able to go from sipping a pina colada in the sand to a candle lit dinner in a cabana in no time…

Beach Buns

With all the salt and sand in your hair, your tresses have the perfect body and texture for a lovely tousled bun. Simply gather your hair into a high ponytail, secure with an elastic, loosely wrap hair around the elastic and secure with hairpins.  For an extra tropical kick add a flower or two to your beachy bun. Wear this hair with a bikini by day or add a maxi dress and gold sandals for a night out. Perfect!

Tinted Lips

I've found that tinted lip balms are the best thing to keep your lips soft and pretty while spending time in the sun and water. If your lips are anything like mine, you need to keep them constantly drenched in something hydrating. Tinted balms give great moisture while also providing a little color and some SPF. I'm currently addicted to Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 in Coral and Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me. Your lips will have a soft hue AND be protected from the elements.

Waterproof Eyes

For beach ready eyes in a snap use a waterproof cream shadow in warm colors like soft golds or bronze and a black waterproof mascara. Try Smashbox's Limitless 15 Hour Wear Cream Shadow in Topaz and follow with a few coats of impermeable mascara such as, my favorite, Dior DiorShow Waterproof Mascara. To create this look simply use your ring finger and smudge the cream shadow from your lashes to the crease and blend a little into your lower lash line. Finish with two to three coats of mascara. This adorable look will last you from day to night without smudging. What could be easier than that?
