Cuts for Kids

Children of all ages can now get a great haircut at a great price while having a great time. Many salons are specifically geared to children and their hair care needs, performed by professional, experienced and patient stylists. These salons offer a wide array of fun options for your child/children.

Sharkeys Cuts for Kids, 1866 Post Rd East in Westport, offers haircuts which include a wash, cut and blow-dry, a Tween  Lounge, fun chairs, game stations with Xbox/PS3/Nintendo, mini-cure & glamour rings, Sharkey dollars, bookmarks, balloons, lollipops “and of course lots of fun, smiles and great haircuts.” Additional services offered: Bang Trim, Childs 1st haircut, Blow dry, up do, Dad and son, Mom and daughter, and elaborate, all inclusive Glamour Girl birthday parties.

Snip Snaps Kids Cuts has four locations in Ct: Wilton, Stamford, Guilford and Meriden. Snip Snaps also specializes in children’s cuts, has race car chairs each with its own TV (cable channels) and PlayStation 2, birthday parties and money saving coupons. Additionally, kids can watch one of the many DVD movies offered or bring one of their own.

Grahams, located at 60 Greenwich Avenue, specializes in both toys and haircuts. Toy offerings include: baby toys, designer toys, stuffed animals, outdoor toys and games, science kits, imaginary play and indoor games – toys for everyone and kids of all ages. Grahams Salon has an experienced staff that ‘does cuts for any age from newborns to grandparents. Your child’s 1st haircut comes complete with a lock of their hair and a photo certificate. TV’s, movies, video games, and a pedal Lamborghini Gallardo seat are available.

 

Snip Its of Fairfield has locations in Fairfield, Southport, Black Rock, Westport and Bridgeport and has a ‘Snip Its is the premier destination for your kids haircuts’ motto, proudly offering quality cuts in a fun environment. Services include: hair styles, spa style treatments, first haircuts, a referral program, lice prevention, a value pack and Autism support along with 5 different themed birthday parties (glamour party, Hollywood party, rock star party, a spa party and a style-a-doll party). Snips Its also carries their own line of shampoos and body wash and are currently offering a new customer special $3 off regular kid’s cuts.

Colonial Barber Shop on South Ave in New Canaan comes complete with a traditional barber shop pole, candy machines, a race car seat and has a charming vintage feel while offering modern day amenities. Frequent discounts are also offered on varying services.

Juljen Salon, 6 Maple Ave in Westport, also offers ‘expert’ kids cuts and is currently offering a $17 kids cut special and free bang trims between cuts. 

Beachside Barber, 1040 Post Rd Fairfield, offers great kids cuts in a race car seat along with great prices as does Demetris Barber, 48 Reef Road. New to Fairfield is Barn Salon, 1200 Post Road, specifically geared (and decorated) to tweens and teens, Barn Salon offers: haircutting, styling, color (including dipped ends), straightening, party and recital hair, face (makeup) and body (airbrush tanning) to name a few and offers a 15% discount to college (ID req’d) students. 

“As the mother of 3 young boys, we like to go to Beachside Barber,” said Jennifer Wingate of Fairfield. “Denise, the owner is great with children, the price is reasonable, it’s very clean and there is not usually a long wait.”

Most salons welcome walk-ins, however appointments are recommended for your convenience.
