Annalies Downs and Geoffrey Goodwin first met each other at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church while they were in grade school. They became high school sweethearts and matured into college sweethearts. After several years of dating, Geoffrey popped the question during a romantic dinner at the Atlantic Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. Geoffrey led Annalies to a private balcony for a candlelight dessert overlooking the ocean.
Kerith Harding, the assistant rector, officiated at the ceremony held at the Christ & Holy Trinity Church in Westport. A lively reception followed at the Inn at Longshore.
Annalies, a native of Glastonbury, works as a paralegal at Orlans Moran PLLC. Geoffrey is a federal agent for the department of homeland security. The bride and groom each earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Northeastern University.
The newlyweds honeymooned in South Africa before returning home to Pembroke Pines, Florida.
