Vanessa Vincent & John Saur

Vanessa Sarah Vincent and John Joseph Saur, known as JJ, met when they became roommates in Manhattan. Shortly after moving in, JJ invited Vanessa to a Fourth of July party in the Hamptons. A few weeks later the couple began dating. Two years later, following a romantic dinner, JJ dropped to one knee and proposed with a candy ring pop. After a good laugh, Vanessa jokingly asked if JJ was practicing for the real proposal. He took the opportunity to pull out the diamond ring that had been burning a hole in his pocket. After catching her breath, Vanessa accepted.

Father Donald Kaufman officiated at the ceremony at Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción in Isla Mujeres, Mexico. A reception followed at the Zama Beach Club.

The bride, daughter of Maryse Vincent of Greenwich, and Charles Vincent of Geneva, Switzerland, graduated from John Jay High School and Franklin and Marshall College. She is an executive assistant at Lactalis American Group in New York City. The groom, the son of Mercedes and John Saur of Darien, graduated from Darien High School and Miami University. He is a vice president with Marsh U.S.A.

The newlyweds live in Manhattan.
