The campus of Connecticut College is where Katrina Chapman met her future husband, Edward deBary, known by friends as Ned. Their relationship began freshman year and lasted through college. After graduation Katrina and Ned went separate ways but always kept in touch. When, by chance, both relocated to Boston, they reunited and began dating again.
Fifty-two floors above the city of Boston, at the Top of the Hub restaurant, Ned asked Katrina to marry him. Reverend Dr. Jim Lemler officiated at the ceremony at Christ Church in Greenwich and the reception followed at Belle Haven Club. When the happy couple left the reception by boat and pulled into the docks at the Delamar Hotel, Paul Simon was performing next door at the Greenwich Town Party. What better way to end an evening than to be serenaded by a music legend?
The bride, daughter of Tony Chapman of Bethel, Maine, and Donna Richard of Portland, Maine, graduated from Gould Academy, Connecticut College, and received her law degree from Boston University Law School. Katrina is an attorney for Holland & Knight in Boston.
The groom, son of Paul and Victoria deBary of Greenwich, graduated from Northfield Mount Hermon School and Connecticut College. Ned is a brand experiences producer for Allen & Gerritsen in Boston.
The newlyweds honeymooned in Rome and the Amalfi Coast before returning home to Boston.
