Emily Siguler & Langdon Mitchell

Emily Ann Siguler and Langdon Paull Mitchell sailed right through all four years at Georgetown together, literally. The two met and began dating freshman year as teammates on the sailing team and later became cocaptains their senior year. On a cold, windy winter afternoon over hot chocolate at Emily’s childhood home in the Foothills of the Berkshires, Langdon proposed and made his cocaptain his fiancé.
Father Steven Zehler officiated at the ceremony at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Ponte Vedra Beach. A reception followed at the Sawgrass Players Club where, once the daily Florida rainstorm passed, a rainbow and dolphins appeared to create the perfect backdrop.
The bride, daughter of George and Pamela Siguler of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, graduated from the Hotchkiss School and Georgetown University, then received her master’s degrees in elementary education and literacy from Arizona State University and Columbia Teachers College, respectively. Emily is a reading specialist and Spanish teacher at KIPP Philadelphia Elementary Academy.
The groom, son of Morgan and Betsy Mitchell of Riverside, graduated from Greenwich High School and Georgetown University. Langdon is studying for his master’s degree in finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
The newlyweds honeymooned in Jumby Bay, Antigua, before returning home to Philadelphia
