Courtney Quay & Alexander Gardiner
New Year’s Eve will always be a special holiday for Alexander Hayes Gardiner, known as Zander, and Courtney Elizabeth Quay, since they were introduced to each other on the holiday by her cousin and his classmate, Mark Andrews. The two became fast friends, softball teammates, and more important, a couple. Five years into their courtship, Zander proposed to Courtney while visiting his parents in Greenwich. Father James Harlan officiated at the ceremony at the Episcopal Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea in Palm Beach. A reception followed at the Everglades Club.
The bride, daughter of John and Martha Quay of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, graduated from the Cranbrook Kingswood School, Miami University, and received her master’s degree in early childhood education from Bank Street College of Education. Courtney is a teacher at the Plymouth Church School in New York.
The groom, son of Debby and A. Denny Gardiner of Greenwich, graduated from Middlesex School and Harvard University. Zander is a CFA and associate with Highbrook Investment Management in Manhattan.
Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner spent their honeymoon in California and Hawaii. They live in Manhattan
