Catharine Auch & Matthew Watson

The New England Patriots winning Super Bowl XXXVIII was not the highlight of the evening for Catharine Cynthia Auch and Matthew Connor Watson; meeting each other was the real touchdown. The two hit it off at a Super Bowl party hosted by a mutual friend. Eight years later, one cozy evening at home, Matthew proposed to Catharine.
Reverend Terence Elsberry officiated the ceremony at the Belle Haven Club, where a reception followed. Katie and Matt, as the newlyweds are known, left the party through an archway of sparklers held by guests to an awaiting boat that took them on an evening cruise.
The bride, daughter of Skip and Lynne Auch of Greenwich, graduated from Greenwich High School and Lafayette College. She is an interior designer for the Greenwich firm Katherine Cowdin.
The groom, son of Bill and Beth Watson of Port Chester, New York, graduated from Greenwich High School, Berkshire School and the French Culinary Institute in New York. Matt is the co-owner of Corbo’s Corner Deli in Greenwich.
The newlyweds honeymooned in Spain before returning home to Stamford.
