Your Favorite Favor

The 411 on providing your guests with the best late night treats

Istock/Magone

Many couples want their reception to continue into the late hours of the night or want to leave their guests with something to remember their special night. Wedding favor bars are one way that a couple can personify their personalities into the entire experience. Whether they vary from candy bars, ice cream, cookies, popcorn; giving your friends and family a treat at the end of the night is a great way to leave an impression.

It is important to accent your party with practical favors that your partygoers will either begin eating as they leave your event or something that leaves one last statement on how great your wedding was for them the next day when they dig into that little box of chocolates. It is also very common for the bride and groom to select a favor that benefits their favorite chairty by placing a donation in your guest's honor. This is not only a personal gift but helps others as well!

A word of advice is to avoid knick-knacks as they normally don’t go over very well. If you have something sweet in mind or something special that has amazing and perfect meaning for the two of you then go for it.

A few off the cuff ideas:
-Candies wrapped in Boxes or displayed for guests to serve themselves
-Custom Popcorn bar
-Lollipop trees
-Hiring a taco truck to grace your guests with some amazing taco’s and guacamole.
-Serving hot dogs and French fries in paper cones
-Renting a popcorn cart and treating your guests to freshly popped popcorn. To make it even more unique create a side station with custom toppings like truffle oil, grated cheeses, chocolates and caramel.
-For a sweet tooth serving warm donuts and fresh coffee
-Leave your guests with some comfort food by creating grilled cheese wedges and serving it with a shot of tomato soup.
