Wendy and Matthew both attended North Street School and Hotchkiss School, and they lived only fourteen blocks from each other in Manhattan. However their paths didn’t cross until mutual friends introduced them and they hit it off. The couple dated for two years before getting engaged in Boise, Idaho, during a river-rafting adventure.
Justice of the Peace Donna Moore officiated at the ceremony at Boca Bay Pass Club in Boca Grande, Florida. Flower girl Andrea made the guests giggle when she threw the petals onto people’s laps instead of sprinkling them down the aisle. At the cutting of the cake, the newlyweds drank champagne from the Headington silver wedding cup used in all family weddings for generations.
The bride, daughter of Joan Rodger and the late Leon Rodger of New York City and Naples, graduated from Hotchkiss and Columbia University. Wendy spent twenty years in the fine jewelry and watch industry.
The groom, son of Daniel and Dodie Headington of Martha’s Vineyard and Boca Grande, graduated from Hotchkiss and Lafayette College. Matt is the founder and managing partner of Lafayette Capital Investors in New York City.
The Headingtons honeymooned in Napa and call Manhattan home.
