Kelly Gallello and Charles Pia, who is known as Chaz, met during a friend’s engagement party on Memorial Day Weekend more than three years ago. By evening’s end, Chaz, knowing he wanted to see Kelly again, asked her for a date the following evening. The two were inseparable from that day on; it was inevitable she would say yes when he proposed last spring.
It was cloudy on the day of their wedding at the Wild Dunes Resort in Isle of Palms, near Charleston, South Carolina. The sun began to peek through as the beach ceremony began, and the groom stood in a cream seersucker suit under a wooden canopy draped in sheer linens, watching the bride in a lace strapless gown make her way down the aisle, accompanied by her daughter, Mia Gallello. Soon after Kelly and Chaz exchanged vows before their nine guests and Justice of the Peace Roselea Donahue, Mia observed the couple share their first kiss as husband and wife, and exclaimed, “They’re getting married!” A celebratory dinner followed at the Boardwalk Inn.
