Christine Hickey and Tim Grosskopf attended New Canaan High School years ago, but it wasn’t until after Tim’s twentieth high school reunion that the two reconnected. When Tim saw Chris’s twin sisters at the reunion, he asked the girls about their sibling. Soon after he asked Chris out on a date. They were together for two years before Tim popped the question.

In a modern day twist, the groom proposed with an iPhone photo of the stone he’d picked out rather than an actual ring, knowing his future bride would want to select her own setting. Chris and Tim were engaged at the Equinox Hotel in Vermont, one of their favorite places.

The couple married and held their reception at Saltwater Farm Vineyard in Stonington. They took their vows flanked by their children: Chris’s daughter, Julia, and Tim’s son and daughter, Tommy and Cate. Justice of the Peace Mary Tyler Wiley invited them to form a circle while she spoke about the new family they would form together.

The bride is vice president of strategic communications and news at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Chris is daughter of Marita and Thomas Hickey of New Canaan. The groom is a vice president of sales at Energizer in Shelton. Tim is son of Bobbie Grosskopf of Fairhope, Alabama, and the late Ted Grosskopf. Chris and Tim spent their honeymoon in Bora Bora and now live in Darien.
