When Anne Harvey and Jamie Sharpe were introduced by her friend from high school (who married Jamie’s college roommate) at a street fair in Brooklyn, she had no idea what she had started. A year and a half later, Jamie surprised Anne with an evening at the Equinox Hotel in Vermont to break up their trip from New York to New Hampshire. He suggested a hike to enjoy the fall foliage and ended up on bended knee in front of a lake.

The couple married at St. George’s Chapel in Middletown, Rhode Island, and hosted their reception at the New York Yacht Club Harbour Court in Newport. “The most memorable moment was right after the ceremony,” says the bride. “As Jamie and I stood together on the hilltop of the yacht club with beautiful views of Newport Harbor at dusk, we just felt so lucky and blessed to be surrounded by all these amazing people as we celebrated the most special day of our lives.”

The bride, who graduated from the University of Virginia, is a registered nurse at New York Presbyterian Hospital, The Cornell Weill Medical Center. Anne is a daughter of Robin and Darrell Harvey of Darien. The groom, a graduate of Georgetown, is a vice president of business development at Willis in New York City. He is a son of Susan and Donald Sharpe of Charlotte, North Carolina.

The couple spent their honeymoon in Italy. They recently bought a home in Rowayton.
