TV Broadcasters Bill and Willie Geist Discuss Hilarious New Book Good Talk, Dad at Special IKEA New Haven/WSHU Public Radio Event.
The Geists will be interviewed by WTNH anchor Ann Nyberg.
Just in time for Father’s Day, IKEA New Haven will co-host a special “Join the Conversation” with WSHU Public Radio, featuring TV’s Bill and Willie Geist, who will share hilarious stories from their new book Good Talk, Dad: The Birds and the Bees…and Other Conversations We Forgot to Have. The event will be held at the IKEA New Haven store on Saturday, June 7, 2014, at 11:00am. Free refreshments and goody bags will be given to each guest.
After Bill went public with his struggle with Parkinson’s disease, the Geists decided to collaborate on a book so their children and grandchildren would have a record of their unique bond, and the riotous Geistian parenting legacy. The result was Good Talk, Dad and in it, the talented father-son team shares stories of their funny and heartwarming relationship. And now, in this very special event, the Geists’ conversation continues, including riffs on everything from music and sports, to summer camp, driving lessons, and family life.
Bill Geist is a two-time Emmy award-winning correspondent for "CBS News Sunday Morning", where he has chronicled some of the quirkiest people and places in America. Prior to joining CBS, he was a columnist for The New York Times, where he wrote the "About New York" column. Bill seems most proud, however, of taking third in the Illinois State Fair Bake Off in 1979. He lives with his wife in New York.
Willie Geist is co-host of the third hour of NBC’s Today, co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe, and a contributor to Nightly News with Brian Williams.
