The American Gold Cup is one of the most prestigious and iconic equestrian sporting events in the world of International Show Jumping. Founded in 1970 and originally held in Cleveland, OH, the show enjoyed success in Tampa, FL, Philadelphia, PA and eventually it's home for more than 20 years, the Devon Horse Show grounds, in Devon, PA.
In 2012, the American Gold Cup moved to the luxurious and historic Old Salem Farm in North Salem, NY, just north of New York City where it experienced record-breaking show entries, spectators and accolades. Following last year’s enormous success and rating as the United States top show by North American Riders Group, the American Gold Cup will return for its 44th year to Old Salem Farm, the state-of-the-art equestrian sports training and event facility widely recognized by competitors as a premiere venue for its picturesque show grounds, equine friendly facilities, and unique grass Grand Prix Field.
Over the course of five days elite equestrian athletes, horse owners, young riding hopefuls along with enthusiastic fans gather to enjoy the extraordinary show jumping event. Amongst a fanfare of family friendly activities, spectators delight in exceptional shopping from headliners like Roberto Coin and Hermes on boutique row, celebrity sightings, the signature JustWorld International horseless horse show for kids and much more.
Highlighting the event, the $200,000 American Gold Cup Grand Prix showcases world class equestrian competition's sheer equine power, speed and excitement. The world governing body for equestrian sport (FEI) has designated the Gold Cup as a World Cup Qualifier competition, which only a handful can claim in North America. Carrying the prestigious designation, our Sunday Grand Prix event is of the utmost importance for riders aspiring to compete at the 2015 World Cup Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada.
