Greenwich High School PTA will host its annual SummerFare Camp Expo for middle and high school students on Wednesday, January 30th, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the school's Student Center. This popular event is open to the public and is free of charge. A snow date of Thursday, January 31st is scheduled.
With over 130 summer camps showcased, representatives from traditional day and sleep away camps to ventures abroad, will be on hand at SummerFare to help you find just the right program for your student. You will also find an array of academic programs, sports, visual & performing arts, outdoor adventure, community service programs, computers, and special education programs. This is a wonderful chance to have you and your child’s questions answered and have program representatives explain their diverse summer opportunities or to simply pick up camp brochures and DVDs.
Despite the chilly weather in January, SummerFare is designed to give families a look ahead to summer and to beat the rush on camp sign-ups as spring approaches and programs fill up quickly. "This is a fantastic opportunity for you and your teen to get information on summer programs offered from many exciting organizations," commented one GHS parent. "Having so many programs featured in one location takes the stress out of the search and saves valuable time."
This year marks the 24th year that the Greenwich High School PTA is sponsoring SummerFare, one of its largest community service events. Greenwich High School parents Michelle Allen and Cathy Buck are co-chairing this year's event.
