Women in Business 2012

More than 300 women gathered at The Loading Dock, in Stamford on Wednesday May 16th for Moffly Media’s 5th annual “ Women in Business” event. A cocktail networking reception kicked off the evening with dozens of sponsors showcasing samples and demonstrations of their products and services specifically geared towards women.

The theme of the evening focused on Social Media Today… What’s Your Style?, with all the speakers sharing their personal experiences, wealth of knowledge on their areas of expertise and suggestions on how to utilize social media to the fullest. The audience included professional women and women business owners, as well as women simply networking to gain future employment.

Women in Business featured a dynamic panel of speakers, Kathryn Rose, Social Media and Relationship Marketing Consultant, Author and Strategist; Bonnie Marcus, President of Bonnie Marcus Collection “Where Fashion Meets Paper”; Harriet Mays Powell, Founder/ Editor in Chief of TheLookNow.com, former Fashion Editor of New York Magazine, and The New York Times Magazine; Sara Hacala,  Author, Saving Civility: 52 Ways to Tame Rude, Crude and Attitude for a Polite Planet,  and emceed and moderated by Rebecca Surran, News 12 Connecticut’s Emmy award-winning anchor/producer.  The spirited panel discussion covered using social media in today’s business climate, and how to implement social media strategies. The lively Q & A was followed by an exciting runway fashion show by Intermix featuring their Summer 2012 Collection.

A special Grand Prize drawing for a Roberto Coin, 18K gold Primavera bracelet was graciously donated by Lux Bond & Green.
