Four tips for [subtle] holiday sparkle

The holidays are my favorite time of year. The parties, food, clothes, cocktails…I love it! Everything is illuminated and at it's over the top best. This includes our hair and makeup. This year, instead of covering everything in rhinestones and glitter, try some of holiday ideas to keep one sparkly step ahead of everyone else:
Hair tinsel is great way to add some glimmering color to your hair. Pick a couple of shades that compliment your hair color like lilac, gold or pink. Tie in a few strands to frame your face, mix into a side braid and some soft curls. This look is fun, sexy and definitely and eye catcher.
We all love sparkly lids for holiday parties. To make your eyes stand apart from everyone else's try a holographic shimmer powder such as Holodiam Powders Holographic Pearls from MAKE UP FOR EVER. To intensify the look apply with a damp brush and press onto the lids. The multidimensional colors will have everyone looking your way.
Outrageous nails are everywhere these days. Whether it's patterns or rhinestones, you can't go wrong with fun nails. My current favorite is the reverse french manicure. Use a rich burgundy such as Skyfall from O.P.I. on the nail and do the tip in a metallic gold like Good as Gold by Essie or try a deep plum like Sole Mate with an icy silver tip such as No Place like Chrome, both from Essie.
If a holographic eye is a little too much for you, try shimmering lashes. False lashes add just enough fun and flare to make your eyes stand out. For a natural looking lash with a kick try MAKE UP FOR EVER Holodiam Collection Eyelash. If you like a little more drama go for Inglot Cosmetics Eyelashes in #68S.
